I had the chance to meet Rob when he was still a purple belt, he came to our first BJJ CAMP and we have keep in touch since them. Rob Lovi travelled all the way from San Diego California to Iceland Europe to give me and my class private lessons. Master Rob is very particular about the application of proper techniques and has the mind of a chess player on the mat. He has the uncanny ability to turn a defensive move into an offensive maneuver, and just when you think you have him, it's Check Mate!
His training with world class fighters like Jacare and Telles is immediately apparent, and he has a incredible range of different gameplans. It's fascinating to see just how many variations there are of a single technique. If one move doesn't work, there's always a backup in the arsenal!
I easily outweigh Rob by 60 pounds, but he taps me out at like it's nothing. Rob is an inspiration, a great teacher and an all around nice guy. He's the best Jiu-Jitsu secret in San Diego. I look forward to continuing my training with Rob well into the future.
